7 Steps To Avoid Back To School Stress

Posted: August 05, 2019

Don’t let normal back-to-school stress turn into lasting fear or long term damage and anxiety. Here are seven ways to put the joy back into back-to-school time for kids, and their parents!

Questions will come up: “Will I fit in?” “Who will my teacher be?” “What if I can’t understand the lessons?” “Will I be with my friends?” These fears are normal but they can lead to undesirable effects, like a lack of enthusiasm for school that can lead to missing classes, and poor grades.

These fears can lead to long-term damage and make attending school in the future much more difficult. They can even lead to social anxiety in adulthood. And for the busy parent trying to keep the family on track, it can be overwhelming!

Respect, it’s not what you know, it’s what you do!

Respect is one of the six life skills taught in the Popkin-Brogna Jujitsu Leadership Program.  Like the other life skills, respect is developed and shown in different ways and is comprised of different principles.  But the primary concern, as with most important goals in martial arts and in life, is that to develop and earn respect you have to work at just as consciously as you practice any other important skill.

Respect is not what you know, it’s what you do. It’s nine pillars include trust, caring, courtesy, acceptance, kindness, confidence, listening, loyalty, and adequate communication.
